זוהר בראשית — דף קכט ע”ב

Summary

The Zohar continues on repentance: penitents cling to the Holy One, blessed be He, in a single moment, which perfectly righteous people did not achieve even after many years; Abraham and David entered the upper days only in old age. Rabbi Yose teaches that, in the world to come, the place where penitents stand is not permitted to the perfectly righteous, since penitents are closer to the King. The Holy One, blessed be He, has prepared many dwellings in that world, each righteous person receiving one according to his rank. “May he dwell in Your courts” refers to the outer places, where emissaries like angels stand, having remained in holiness. One who became defiled draws an impure spirit upon himself and his dwelling is among the harmful beings, whereas one who sanctified himself dwells among the holy ones above, in the court of the Tabernacle.
