זוהר בראשית — דף קסה ע”א
Summary
Rabbi Yitzhak explains that Jacob swore “by the fear of his father Isaac” and not by the God of Abraham, so as not to trouble the right side on Laban’s account. Then Rabbi Abba opens with “male and female He created them,” rebukes those whose hearts are closed and who pay no heed to the call of the Torah, and teaches that the sun and the moon are in a single union, and that blessing rests only where male and female are found. When Jacob left for Haran he was alone and received a dream; now that he returns with the tribes, upper camps come to meet him, and he calls them “two camps.” The Divine Presence went to him and awaits Benjamin to complete the house.
